olas de recuerdos

(Memories of Salt)

Olas de Recuerdo explores themes of memory and identity. Filmmaker Naomi Pasmanick interviews her Galician family members about their childhood, their involvement in the anarcho-syndicalist movement of the early 1930s, and their subsequent repression after the Spanish Civil War. Through oral histories, re-enactments, and archival materials, Naomi details the story of her fisherman family who combated fascism- and paid a price- and explores how the excavation and preservation of memory informs her own outlook towards  present-day resistance to injustice.
